WIC is in Norwich on Tuesdays (8 am - 4 pm), Thursdays (8 am - 6 pm) and Fridays (8 am - 11 am). Occasionally a meeting interferes with WIC, so do confirm your appointment.
WIC is a supplemental food program. It provides: milk, cheese, eggs, peanut butter, cereal and juice. Breastfeeding moms who do not receive formula from WIC also receive tuna fish and carrots. Infants receive Mead Johnson formula.
WIC gives checks for nutritious foods to pregnant women, infants and children, post partum women and breast feeding moms. They also provide nutrition education, and referrals to other helping agencies. They also promote breast feeding to all families.
Caretakers must provide WIC with documentation of household income received. If you receive other public assistance, such as Medicaid, Food Stamps, or free/reduced school lunches, WIC can use that as income verification.
