slow hike - Tuesday 9 March 2010 Long Pond State Forest

We in the Chenango Bird Club have 34 nestboxes along a 3-mile trail in the grasslands of the Long Pond State Forest in Smithville. We clean them every March. We will be going there on Tuesday morning 9 March 2010. This will be a slow hike in that we stop at every box, determine its inhabitants, log our findings, and clean out the box. Snowshoes may be needed, but maybe not. It does get windy there so dress for it. Meet at HoJo in Norwich at 08:00 or at the Dollar store in Oxford at 08:20. We should see some bluebirds and perhaps other spring early migrants, such as robins and blackbirds. Questions? call 607-336-4628.
